Meet the Founders.
Cubo was founded by Gideon Merakanapalli, Amogh Gotaparthy, Shashank Mantrala, and Dhruva Valluru, who were determined to tackle one of the most immediate dangers facing their generation: distracted driving. What began as a small project in January quickly turned into something far more urgent after a local student lost their life in a car accident that April. Confronted with how close to home the issue truly was, the team accelerated their work, channeling their concern into action.
The Idea.
Cubo is an AI-powered system that detects driver distraction and drowsiness in real time and intervenes before accidents happen. It works in nearly any car, installs in seconds, and analyzes everything from phone use to fatigue. Unlike systems from Subaru, Toyota, or Tesla, Cubo uses a smart, context-aware alert system, developed with insights from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University, to reduce distraction without annoying drivers, while also providing reports for parents and insurers.
