Junior Journalists Organization

Meet the Founder.

Junior Journalists began with Lizzy's love for writing and her memory of wishing she had a creative space of her own as a kid. Now a Copy Editor for her High School’s nationally recognized yearbook, Lizzy uses her experience to guide younger students as they explore storytelling for the first time. She started this program to give children the freedom, confidence, and encouragement she once looked for herself. Her goal is simple: help young writers see their potential and inspire them to keep creating.

The Idea.

Junior Journalists is a free, student-led program that brings creative writing and journalism workshops to elementary schools in Florida, with a focus on serving Title I schools. The program has already reached over 120 students across Jupiter Elementary and Beacon Cove Intermediate, giving young writers a space to build confidence, develop their own stories, and even learn to peer-review one another. With two additional schools joining in November, Junior Journalists continues to expand its mission of making high-quality writing enrichment accessible to every child, regardless of background.
